Hi Lori,
David Vernon at Century Farm in northern NC has preserved Lee Calhoun's
heirloom collection that Lee collected from throughout the south. Not
all are southern apple. For example, David offers Roxbury Russet, a 17th
century apple from Massachusetts.
See: https://www.centuryfarmorchards.com/
I have bought multiple trees from David and also have ordered custom
grafted trees from a variety I found on a new land purchase that I
wished to preserve. I have had a very good experience with David and his
trees.
Good luck on planting out your new place!
