This is the little blurb that goes along with GRIN accession DMOR 9 -"Information from Seed Savers, page 375: Large, 1 inch [2.54cm], juicy, red to purplish black fruit similar to blackberries; can be quite delicious. Small, wide spreading, deciduous tree grows 20-30 feet [6.1-9.14m] tall. Very long-lived, becoming gnarled and picturesque. Similar to Russian Mulberry in that it can be used to make a fine hedge; very attractive to birds. Ripens in late spring. Hardy to at least -10 degrees Farenheit. Grows well in Zones 5-6. Native to western Asia."
I'm not sure from whence this info comes, but it suggests that other macroura selections may be more adaptable. Aren't there people successfully growing Pakistan in zone 6 PA?
